Devinder Pal, Pharmabiz advisory board member & past president IPA no more

DEVINDER-PAL.jpgPharmabiz board member Devinder Pal, who was also the past president, Indian Pharmaceutical Association,  passed away on October 11,2017. He was ailing in a Mumbai Hospital for the last few months.
Late Devendra Pal topped M Pharma degree at the Benares Hindu University. He was the youngest production manager at 23 years of age. He was controlling and directing the operations as whole time director for some of the most prestigious pharma companies in the country including Parke Davis.
An industry veteran, he had served on many national and international panels including Indian Pharmacopoeia Committee; Drug Technical Advisory Board; Governing Body of the Bombay College of Pharmacy; Indian Institute of Packaging; OPPI; and IDMA.
He was the National President of the Indian Pharmaceutical Association and President of the 46th session of Indian Pharmaceutical Congress. Besides, he was also the Vice President of the UK based prestigious Commonwealth Pharmaceutical Association.
He bagged several honours including the ‘Eminent Pharmacist Award’ Pharma Excellence Professional Award and was covered in the Who’s Who in the world to name a few.
IPA honoured him with the Ramanbhai Patel Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award 2006 in appreciation of the pivotal role he played in the growth of the profession and the industry he served. The citation read: ‘ With his acumen and analytical ability combined with an extraordinary penchant to apply his knowledge, he not only left an indelible impression on the pharma industry where he is justifiably called the doyen and an asset going by his impeccable service record.’
The pharma industry has lost a capable soul in the drug manufacture arena noted those who knew Late Pal.
