KSPC announces Best Pharmacist Awards 2017, to organise scientific seminar on November 14

Dr. Arun Rasheed, professor of pharmaceutics at Al Shifa College of Pharmacy at Perinthalmanna, Kerala has bagged the ‘Best Pharmacy Teacher Award 2017, instituted by the Kerala State Pharmacy Council (KSPC). The award consists of a citation and a cash prize of Rs.5,000.

D N. Anitha, pharmacist at the general hospital at Jagathy in Thiruvananthapuram, has bagged the ‘Best Hospital Pharmacist Award’ and E K Praveen, pharmacist at the Lekshmi Pharmacy in Ernakulam has been selected for the ‘Best Community Pharmacist Award’. Both of them will get Rs.5,000 and a citation each.

The award committee has selected PK Sree Kumar, assistant drugs controller at Thiruvananthapuram to honour him with an award on recognition of his notable services in the enforcement wing.

PK Radhakrishnan, pharmacist at Kuttankulangara PHC in Wynadu district will be given award for his services in the tribal areas.

B Rajan, president of KSPC will give away the awards at a function to be arranged as part of the scientific seminar, to be held at Hotel SP Grand Days in Thiruvananthapuram on November 14. He said KSPC is the only state pharmacy council in India to recognize and honour pharmacists every year for their valuable services.

The subject of the scientific seminar is,'Badging the Principles of Epidemiology in Drug Utilisation- Competitive Advantages to Pharmacy Professionals”. The speaker is Dr. Rakesh Pillai, programme officer at INCLEN Trust International, New Delhi.
