Samsung enters partnership with UP Govt for setting up 20 Smart Healthcare centres

Samsung India has entered into a partnership with the Government of Uttar Pradesh to add 20 new Samsung Smart Healthcare centres across the state and provide affordable and quality healthcare to patients from the economically and socially weaker sections of society.
 
As part of its Smart Healthcare programme, Samsung will provide advanced and innovative healthcare equipment such as ultrasound and digital radiology (x-ray) machines manufactured by the company along with a Samsung LED TV, Samsung air conditioner and refrigerator to selected government hospitals across the state.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Samsung India and the Department of Medical Health & Family Welfare, Government of Uttar Pradesh in the presence of Siddharth Nath Singh, Minister of Medical and Health, Government of Uttar Pradesh,  Prashant Trivedi, Principal Secretary, Department of Medical Health & Family Welfare, Government of Uttar Pradesh,  V. Hekali Zhimomi, Secretary, Medical Health & Family Welfare Department, Dr. Padmakar Singh, Director General, Medical & Health Services, Government of Uttar Pradesh and other dignitaries.

Siddharth Nath Singh, Minister of Medical and Health, Government of Uttar Pradesh, said, “We are pleased to collaborate with Samsung India for this programme. We are committed to offer affordable healthcare facilities for the people of Uttar Pradesh and welcome the support from Samsung India in helping hospitals cater to the community’s needs for quality healthcare.”

“Development on the healthcare front is the need of the hour. I am happy that Samsung India has made a start on that front and has come forward to set up programmes like Samsung Smart Healthcare. On its part, the government is working towards creating better medical facilities for the public and the collaboration with Samsung for the Smart Healthcare programme is a step towards fulfilling this vision,” said Prashant Trivedi, Principal Secretary, Department of Medical Health & Family Welfare, Government of Uttar Pradesh.

This is one of the largest initiatives of Samsung under its Smart Healthcare programme.“Samsung believes in transforming communities and creating a better life for people. We are pleased to partner with Uttar Pradesh to offer healthcare solutions with the effective use of technology. Through this collaboration, we aspire to provide many more people in the state easy access to advanced healthcare facilities. Samsung Smart Healthcare combines good infrastructure, latest technology and the best available medical expertise,” said Deepak Bhardwaj, vice president, Samsung India.

Samsung Smart Healthcare programme aims to support the Government’s efforts to benefit communities with limited access to quality healthcare. With innovative products such as ultrasound, digital radiology and accessories that facilitate healthcare intervention and multiple medical examinations, since 2015, Samsung has collaborated with 18 government hospitals across to country for the Samsung Smart Healthcare programme.

Over 3 lakh patients from the economically and socially deprived sections of society have benefitted from the Samsung Smart Healthcare programme. Doctors, technicians and radiologists are also trained to handle state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment and software.

Uttar pradesh which heads in terms of population for last many years on Indian census,is equally top in terms of infants death in the span of 0-5 years and also in terms of non commmunicable diseases and infectious disorders Due to rise in population and poor per capita income,povery and malnutrition are the root cause of poor health status.This is further worsen by insufficient health care facilities.

The recent MOU signed between Government of Uttar Pradesh and Samsung india for creating 20 Samsung health Centres in collaboration with government hospital is big boon for people of Uttar Pradesh.These new Samsung health centres will be empowered with digital ultrasonic X-ray machine,samsung Led TV and samsung air cooler.This new concept of Samsung health programme will enable government of Uttar pradesh to improve the quality of medical treatment and health status.
