The Vinoba Bhave Research Institute (VBRI) now sees that the concept of mobile hospital has made a positive impact on the Indian healthcare industry. From military field hospitals to the charity or mass disaster tents in cities, mobile hospitals are much needed today.
These are in demand where an access to a traditional, stationary healthcare facility is limited. Mobile hospital covers the rural or slum areas in the vicinity where either no government healthcare facilities exist or where those that do exist do not provide enough care for the population. In India, mobile hospitals are used to provide immediate, affordable solutions to the need for modern, self-sustaining surgical and medical centres for rural communities. They also act as a relief changer at the time of disaster, population re-locations, hospital expansions and remodels, military healthcare and humanitarian aid, said Dr. Ashutosh Tiwari, chairman & managing director, VBRI.
Along with numerous advantages, there are also several issues attached to it such as exploitation of installation systems, he said.
But if we look at the geographical and health graph of India, then the concept like mobile hospital should penetrate every nook and corner of the country. Not only the future of Indian healthcare sector holds even brighter with such improvised steps towards medical attention but also it will help the country to achieve its Sustainable Development Goal (SDGs) in rural development, Dr Tiwari told Pharmabiz in an email.
Delving on the importance of technology for data generation in medical, biomedical and healthcare fields, he said that the data generation has fundamentally changed the way organizations manage, analyze and leverage data in medical industry.
If all the hospital records are digitized, it will be the perfect data that can be accessed to understand the pattern of many patients. It can identify the patients approaching the hospital repeatedly and identify their chronic issues. Apart from that a lot many times it has been noted that the professionals tend to either prescribe a wrong medicine or dispatch a different medication by mistake. Such errors can also be minimized by data generation, said Tiwari.
