Sancheti Institute of Orthopedic and Rehabilitation has launched a home-based physiotherapy startup ‘HealYos' in Pune. It aims to cater to women for pregnancy-induced issues and to the elderly with its geriatric physiotherapy programmes and sportspersons to provide them with performance enhancement programmes.

When it is difficult for people to visit hospitals frequently for physiotherapy sessions HealYos plans to cater by taking care to the doorstep. It will offer easy access to anybody who needs physiotherapy consultation.

Rupal Sancheti, director, HealYos, said, "Tele consultation and online physiotherapy are preferred options these days. People are finding home-based physiotherapy more convenient than visiting a hospital every time. During the recent pandemic, online physiotherapy sessions have become popular.

Keeping this in mind, we have launched 'HealYos' that will dedicatedly give home-based physiotherapy services. Through this, we are aiming to offer easy access to anyone who needs physiotherapy, said Sancheti.

HealYos will have a detailed assessment and extensive training programs for sportspersons. It has comprehensive body healing programmes for athletes, pregnant women, geriatrics. Physiotherapy is conventionally considered a post-operative rehabilitation treatment approach. But HealYos along with Sancheti Hospital aims is focusing on prehabilitation which covers physiotherapy to prepare patients for surgery which ensures faster and complete recovery after operation.

"Elite sportspersons are taking consultations abroad for injuries. But, budding sportspersons, do not have access or resources to take training from physiotherapists. Sports careers are affected because of injuries. Here HealYos is working to partner with independent sports clubs to become their recovery partners. We have also drafted performance enhancement programs for budding sportspersons," said Sancheti.

According to Dr. Parag Sancheti, knee surgeon, and chairman, Sancheti Hospital, nowadays people with common neurological disorders are taking extensive rehabilitation care. We are catering to people suffering from stroke, Parkinson’s diseases, traumatic brain injuries, multiple sclerosis, and cerebral palsy. Apart from pregnancy-induced pain, women are taking consultations for other pelvic issues like urinary incontinence and prolapsed pelvic floor muscle weakness.
