Indian Pharmacist Association writes to all state branches regarding guidelines for World Pharmacists Day

The Indian Pharmacist Association (IPA) has written letter to all state branches regarding guidelines for celebration of World Pharmacists Day which is to be held on September 25, 2021.

"As you are aware that every year, we celebrate World Pharmacists Day. This year we celebrate World Pharmacists Day with the theme "Pharmacists: Always Trusted for your Health," stated Abhay Kumar, national president, Indian Pharmacist Association.

The standard guidelines include meeting with dignitaries and sensitizing them about Pharmacists and persuade them to issues messages on World Pharmacists Day, 2021, organizing blood donation camp, seminars, distribution of IPA stickers and or any other programme related to pharmacy profession.

The other guidelines include launch of e-clinic by IPA, best pharmacists award every year by IPA and ensure participation of top office bearers of every state branch in national virtual meet.

The World Pharmacists Day is celebrated by pharmacists to promote their commitment to organise activities.

Pharmacists monitor the health and progress of patients to ensure the safe and effective use of medication. Pharmacists undergo university or graduate-level education to understand the biochemical mechanisms and actions of drugs, drug uses, therapeutic roles, side effects, potential drug interactions, and monitoring parameters. Pharmacists may also practice in a variety of other settings, including industry, wholesaling, research, academia, formulary management, military, and government.

The Indian Pharmacist Association is the professional body for pharmacists of India. Founded in 2011, the association is a member of the Global Health Workforce Alliance. The Association is emerging as one of the largest organizations of pharmacists in India.

The main objective of the association is proper placement of pharmacists to play a role in the healthcare sector in India. Members include hospital pharmacists, manufacturing pharmacists, teachers and clinical pharmacists.
