Remote heart monitoring can change course of medical diagnosis: Dr Senthil Kandeepan

Heart diseases can lead to frequent hospitalisation and the exact cause for each person may be different and only a medical diagnosis can confirm it.  But generally a sedentary lifestyle, unhealthy food, stress and smoking play a part in cardiac issues.

Talking on this issue, Dr S Senthil Kandeepan, MD and CEO, Healthwatch Telediagnostics, said, "Undoubtedly, It’s not just important to diagnose a disease, it is critical to diagnose it correctly and in detail, and that is exactly what we do with our tests. The quick, accurate and detailed insights we offer enable doctors to act decisively and based on solid data, they can come up with treatment plans they are sure will work, avoiding misdiagnosis and the need for repeated testing".

He further added, "Remote heart monitoring can change the course.  A remote heart monitoring system, like our holter monitor, is a machine that continuously records the heart's rhythms and affords a highly realistic, granular and accurate insight into the electrical health of the heart. Based on the findings, a consulting medical practitioner can then prescribe the appropriate treatment thereby aiding in alleviating the condition. By delivering a quick and detailed analysis of a patient’s heart rhythm, the test allows a physician to decisively determine the appropriate course of treatment and patients can, therefore, preempt the consequences of inaction and potentially save their life.”

Talking about expansion plans, Kandeepan said, “We have ambitious plans for expanding our footprint in India, not merely through a network of partners but with our direct presence. Therefore, to supplement the 75 cities in which we’re already present either directly or through our dealer network, we are just now gearing up to set up offices in tier-2 and tier-3 cities every month across India, starting with some geographies in the north this month, and then panning out to other regions. A direct presence in Salem has already been established and many more cities are in the pipeline. Thus we are committed to making quality healthcare accessible to as much of our population as possible at honest and affordable prices.”
