Jagannath Shinde elected as president of AIOCD for 4th time, Rajiv Singhal general secretary

Jagannath_Shinde.gifJagannath S Shinde from Maharashtra has been elected as president of All India Organization of Chemists and Druggists (AIOCD) for fourth time in a row while Rajiv Singhal from Madhya Pradesh has been elected as general secretary.

K K Selvan of Tamil Nadu was elected as the treasurer. They were elected at the general meeting held in Agra recently where 2200 chemists from across the country were present. After the elections, names of new officials for the term of 2017-2020 were declared during the general meeting.  

Besides the declaration of new officials, many issues were discussed in the general meeting including new pharma policy, GST, expiry breakage problem, modernization of chemists shops to compete with retail chain stores, e-portal, trade margin etc.

The election procedures were held under the chairmanship of P K Singh from Bihar and Pradeep Trevedi from Gujarat and Surindar Duggal from Punjab were chief returning officers for the election.

In addition to this, vice presidents of all the seven zones of the country were also declared on the same occasion. President Shinde after taking charge nominated Sundeep Nangia as organising secretary of AIOCD.
