The Mumbai-based Wockhardt Heart Hospital celebrated the World Heart Day with "Wockathon 2004," the 5km-Happy Heart Race where 5000 children from all over Mumbai participated. It was inaugurated by Dr. Jagannathrao Hegde, Sheriff of Mumbai. The theme of World Heart Day was children adolescents & heart disease.
"The aim of this "Wockathon 2004" was to create awareness amongst young children about the risks of heart disease and encourage healthy eating habits among them. It was also to make parents aware that too much junk food could cause potential heart risks to children at a very young age, a release from Wockhardt says.
"The "Wockathon 2004" endeavours to be a turning point in the lives of the children, the future of the nation, through this walk towards a happy and healthy heart," said Mr. Suhas Aradhey, Head-Marketing, Wockhardt Hospitals, Mulund.
