 At the award function of the Tamil Nadu branch of the Indian Pharmaceutical Association, the new director of the drug control administration (DCA), M Sridhar, was felicitated by the state health and family welfare minister, Ma Subrahmanian.
The function was organized by the TN IPA in cooperation with the state board of the Indian Drug Manufacturers’ Association.
The director was felicitated by the state health minister in the presence of pharmacy professionals and pharmaceutical manufacturers of Tamil Nadu. The minister honoured the director with a shawl and a memento, and appreciated his performances as the director of the department.
The TN IPA general secretary Dr T Sathish said M Sridhar is deserving of the felicitation of the association as he is very much supportive to the pharmacy professionals. He said Sridhar knows everything about the pharmacy profession, trade and industry. The pharmaceutical sector is very much hopeful about him and is expecting more as the director of the DCA.
J Jayaseelan, chairman of the TN IDMA, was one of the speakers at the function, said after he assumed the charge, the entire files at his office are moving very fast, and the industry is happy at which the files are attended.
Before becoming the director of the department Sridhar was working as the joint director with charge of Controlling Authority and Licensing Authority. Prior to this position, he was one of the deputy directors of the DCA at the headquarter office in Chennai. Until November 2018, he was working as the ADC of Madurai Zone, then he was promoted and transferred to Chennai. He became director of the DCA on December 9, 2024.
