V T Jadhav has officially taken charge as the new Drug Controlling Authority of the Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Joint Commissioner at the Mumbai Headquarters. He steps into this role following the retirement of the outgoing Drug Controlling Authority, D R Gahane. Jadhav is a seasoned pharmaceutical professional with a strong educational background and over two decades of experience in the field. He holds a Diploma in Pharmacy from Government Polytechnic Jalgaon, a Bachelor of Pharmacy from Pravara Rural College of Pharmacy, a Bachelor of Laws from Law College, Jalna and a Master of Arts in English from Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University. He possesses a unique blend of technical, legal, and linguistic expertise. His career has spanned various roles, including manufacturing of pharmaceutical products and regulatory oversight as an Assistant Commissioner (Drugs) across multiple districts of Maharashtra. Currently, he also serves the Joint Commissioner (Drugs) at the Food and Drug Administration's Greater Mumbai office, where he continues to leverage his skills and experience to ensure the safety and efficacy of pharmaceutical products. He is passionate about making a positive impact in the healthcare sector and committed towards upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity at work. Over the years, he has played an active role in several key enforcement initiatives and administrative matters within the Greater Mumbai area. With his new responsibility as Drug Controlling Authority, Jadhav is expected to further strengthen Maharashtra FDA’s regulatory framework and enforcement actions.
