 Gland Pharma announced that the Board has approved the appointment of Deepak Sapra, as the new chief executive officer (CEO) of the Company, subject to his acceptance of the offer made by the company. Deepak Sapra will be joining the company with effect from November 16, 2026.
Deepak Sapra is a seasoned business leader with 27 years of executive experience, including over 23 years in the pharmaceutical industry. He currently serves as the chief executive officer – API and Services at Dr Reddy’s Laboratories Limited (DRL) and as a board member of Aurigene Pharma Services.
In his current role, Deepak Sapra is responsible for the global portfolio strategy and he leads an integrated B2B business spanning generic pharmaceuticals, CDMO services, APIs, collaborations and alliances, public health, and global patient access, with operations and business interests across key markets including the United States, European Union, Japan, Brazil, China, Mexico, the Middle East, emerging markets including Africa.
Deepak Sapra holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Railways Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Jamalpur, and a Master's degree in Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Bengaluru. He was also a recipient of the Chevening Scholarship at the University of Bradford, UK, and a Fulbright Fellow at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, USA.
