Further, the educational institution attached to the Institute will help to develop benchmarks of ayurvedic education, research and healthcare.

“The AIIA has been awarded with NABH Accreditation, therefore becoming the first medical institute under the Ministry of Ayush to hold the coveted status provided for its clinical services. The Institute has signed MoU with National Institute of Cancer Prevention and Research (NICPR) Noida, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), AIIMS New Delhi, Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY) and EAA (Germany) for research in various areas. The Ministry has also developed standard treatment guidelines for diabetes and SOP for various procedures.

AIIA was dedicated to the nation on October 17, the National Ayurveda Day, by the prime minister. This is the first ever national level institute for Ayurveda established in the country by the government.

While delivering his inaugural speech, prime minster, Narendra Modi said his government is working towards establishing Ayurveda hospitals in every district of the country. Within the last three years, union government has started 65 Ayush hospitals in various parts of India. He said the union government has approved 100 percent FDI in healthcare systems.
