Leucine Rich Bio developed a novel gut microbiome test, BugSpeaks has added a new interactive feature on their site :https://bugspeaks.com/quiz that would allow anyone assess the state of their gut health online for free.
Various factors affect the micro-organisms residing in our intestine which in turn affect the intestinal health. This feature is in the form a quiz/questionnaire that incorporates publicly available microbiome research information and Leucine Rich Bio’s internal data and know-how on the gut microbiota domain. The output is in the form of a score that guides the user about their state of the gut health.
According to Dr Debojyoti Dhar, co-founder, Leucine Rich Bio the whole idea was to make people more aware about the importance of the gut health especially in today’s time of the pandemic. A healthy gut is important for healthy life.
We have used our knowledge on the microbiome domain to come up with this interactive quiz. It would help create more awareness about the importance of the gut health. Although, the score would indicate the state of the gut health, still for proper assessment microbiome test would be recommended, he added.
The Bengaluru-based Leucine Rich Bio has worked with some of the best research institutes from across the world and has utilized its deep knowledge in genomics data analysis to develop South Asia’s first gut microbiome test - Bug Speaks. The test package is available pan India and globally too. The company is also collaborating with HCG cancer hospital. The key areas the company works are in preventive healthcare, precision medicine and data driven drug discovery. The company has filed few patents and have recently published an article on the role of gut microbiota in Covid-19 in an international peer reviewed journal, Virus Research. It has also launched India’s first Indian gut microbiome based nutraceutical product line, Rychbiome.
