Dr Ramaswamy brings to the table an illustrious career spanning over 45 years, marked by significant contributions to the Indian pharmaceutical industry.
He is a graduate in chemistry (1973 to 1978) from the University of Calicut and holds double post-graduate degrees in Management (Marketing & HR from NMIMS, Mumbai) and PhD from Madurai Kamaraj University, Tamil Nadu (TN). He is currently the managing director of Sotax India Pvt Ltd, a global leader in pharmaceutical testing. As the managing director of Sotax India Pvt Ltd since October 2010, Dr Ramaswamy has steered the company and established it in India. His leadership has been instrumental in positioning Sotax India as a pioneer in the field of dissolution, automation and physical testing.
Dr Ramaswamy conceptualized and founded the Society for Pharmaceutical Dissolution Science (SPDS), promoting global pharmaceutical research and quality enhancement since 2012. He serves as the secretary general.
Acknowledging his significant contributions, Dr Ramaswamy received the Creative Legend Award from SPDS, presented by the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI).
He has held leadership positions in Ambalal Sarabhai Enterprises LTD, Stiefel India Pvt Ltd, and Unichem Laboratories, showcasing versatility in his roles.
Dr Ramaswamy has been recognized internationally, nominated as a member of the International Scientific Advisory Board and session chair at the 3rd International Symposium in Hungary.
As a visiting faculty at esteemed institutes, he has shared insights on management, human resources, and brand building. He currently serves as Head - Pharma Vertical at the United States India Import Council (USIIC), Mumbai and has initiated collaborative efforts, including bringing All India Pharma Associations together under the All India Pharmaceutical Associations Consortium (AIPAC), with an objective and focus on training Pharma MSME professionals in India.
