 Sami Labs founder and chairman Dr. Muhammed Majeed has passed away yesterday in Chennai. He was aged 75 years.
His loss is deeply regretted by the family and staff of Sami-Sabinsa Group. Dr. Majeed was a guiding force, a mentor, and a source of inspiration for all who had the privilege to work alongside him, said a communication from the family members of Dr. Muhammed Majeed.
An internationally acclaimed scientist, Dr. Majeed, was born in Kollam, Kerala, India, on 25th September, 1948, and was among the biggest names in the Indian and global nutraceutical and cosmeceutical industries. On the back of his relentless efforts, he introduced the glory of Indian herbal extracts to global markets and was honoured as the “Father of the Indian Nutraceutical Industry."
Dr. Majeed has won over hundred international recognitions and numerous patents to his credit for his work in combining the ancient knowledge of Ayurveda with modern science and enriching human life, as per a communication from the family members of Dr. Majeed.
