Marking a significant event for Tamil Nadu's state capital, the Chennai Trade Centre at Nandambakkam in Guindy, has become alive with the opening of Pharmac South 2024, the pharmaceutical trade show of South India, today. The inauguration of the trade show was done by the principal secretary of health government of Tamil Nadu, Dr. Gagandeep Singh Bedi, by cutting the ribbon. Because of the election model code of conduct continues in the country, the principal secretary did not make a speech at the function. The leaders of the organising committee, including the chairman of the Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council (Pharmexcil), lighted the lamp at the inaugural ceremony. Followed by it, the chairman of the Pharmexcil, Dr S V Veeramani delivered a speech on 'the Latest Developments in Pharma Industry and Export Opportunities'. The chairman of the Tamil Nadu state board of the Indian Drug Manufacturers’ Association (TN IDMA), J Jayaseelan welcomed the guests and the audience. Over 200 exhibitors from different parts of the country are displaying innovative and cost-effective pharmaceutical products and machineries in the expo. Pharmabiz has also opened a stall at the IDMA's office space in the exhibition hall.
