 The Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India (Pharmexcil) has announced its participation in the upcoming Vietnam Medi-Pharm Expo, scheduled to be held between August 1 and 3, 2024, in Ho Chi Minh City. This prestigious event, backed by the Ministry of Health of Vietnam and organized by VINEXAD, is an annual highlight in the international health sector calendar.
Pharmexcil's director general (DG), Uday Bhaskar, expressed enthusiasm about India's involvement, stating, "We are delighted to participate in the Vietnam Medi-Pharm Expo 2024. This platform offers a significant opportunity for Indian pharmaceutical companies to showcase their products and innovations, enhancing our trade relations with Vietnam."
The India Pavilion, organized by Pharmexcil with support from the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), will feature independent stalls of 9 square meters each. Additionally, exhibitors will benefit from B2B matchmaking services.
Uday Bhaskar highlighted the event's significance, noting, "Vietnam is one of India's top 25 export destinations, and our exports to Vietnam reached US$ 286.65 million in 2023-24, marking a growth rate of 9.96%. This expo provides a crucial platform for reinforcing and expanding our market presence in Vietnam."
The expo is expected to draw over 13,450 visitors and 450 exhibitors from 20 countries, including China, Germany, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Pakistan, Poland, Russia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, the USA, and Vietnam. National pavilions will be featured by countries such as China, India, Taiwan, and Indonesia.
Financial assistance for MSME participants is also noteworthy, with 100% booth cost and economy class airfare for one representative per company being reimbursed post-event. "The support from the MSME Ministry underscores our commitment to helping small and medium enterprises gain international exposure and grow their businesses," added Bhaskar.
