The landscape of Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) is undergoing a significant transformation, driven by the integration of advanced AI technologies. Rustom Lawyer, Co-Founder and CEO of Augnito, a leading Medical Voice AI company, is at the forefront of this revolution, leading the charge to enhance the efficiency of healthcare delivery through innovative solutions.

Augnito is a leading provider of Medical Voice AI solutions, dedicated to transforming healthcare delivery by streamlining the EMR process and empowering physicians to focus on patient care.

EMR systems have undeniably improved healthcare by digitizing patient records, enabling seamless information exchange, and enhancing care quality. However, their adoption has not been without challenges. Physicians often struggle with the overwhelming burden of data entry and navigating complex EMR interfaces. These tasks detract from the time available for direct patient interaction, straining physician-patient relationships, complicating revenue cycle management, and disrupting clinical workflows.

To alleviate these challenges, Augnito has developed state-of-the-art tools like Augnito Spectra and Voice Services. These solutions automate transcription processes across more than 55 medical specialties and sub-specialties, including general medicine, oncology, cardiology, and radiology. "Our technology helps clinicians save over three hours per day, enabling them to create detailed and highly accurate documentation at the source. With features such as voice commands, macros, and customizable vocabularies, these tools have significantly reduced documentation timelines by up to 75%," said Lawyer.

Augnito's latest innovation, Ambient Clinical Intelligence, takes this a step further. By converting unstructured, natural conversations into structured EMR data, this technology utilizes advanced features like Far Field Speech Recognition, Multi-lingual Speech Recognition, Speaker Diarization, and Generative AI. "These technologies work together to transcribe, analyze, and sort real-time medical conversations accurately, reducing errors and boosting efficiency," Lawyer added.

Ambient Clinical Intelligence allows physicians to conduct consultations without the distraction of manual data entry. The AI transcribes and summarizes the conversation in real-time, capturing all necessary fields for proper documentation in the EMR system. This includes chief complaints, medical history, diagnoses, treatment plans, prescriptions, and follow-up details. The structured data is then seamlessly transferred into the EMR system via simple voice commands, ensuring accurate and efficient documentation.

The integration of AI into EMR systems offers numerous benefits, as highlighted by Lawyer. By automating data capture and entry, clinicians can save significant time and reduce their administrative workload. AI ensures that all necessary information is accurately captured, reducing the risk of errors and insurance claim rejections. With more time available for direct patient interaction, physicians can provide better care and improve the overall patient experience. Faster turnaround times and the ability to see more patients lead to increased productivity and patient retention. Augnito’s AI understands medical vocabulary for over 50 medical specialties and sub-specialties in any accent of spoken English, as well as in 10 regional Indian languages and global languages like Arabic.

The impact of Voice AI technology is evident in a case study conducted with Apollo Hospitals, one of Asia's largest healthcare groups. Within just six months of deploying Augnito, the group achieved a return on investment 21 times over, saved an average of 44 hours per month for doctors, and saw a 46% increase in overall productivity. "These results highlight the transformative potential of AI in streamlining EMR systems and improving healthcare delivery holistically," Lawyer noted.

In a country like India, where the doctor-to-patient ratio is staggering and access to healthcare infrastructure is disproportionate, Voice AI offers a promising solution. "It bridges language and geographical barriers, empowering clinicians to provide quality care regardless of their location or the patient's literacy level," Lawyer emphasized.

“By automating documentation and simplifying the EMR process, Voice AI allows overworked clinicians to focus on what truly matters—their patients. We are proud to be at the forefront of this revolution, driving positive change in the healthcare industry," Lawyer concluded.
