Over 150 exhibitors at the Pharmac South Expo 2025, held last week at the Chennai Trade Centre, lauded the event, reporting 100 per cent satisfaction. According to feedback received by Pharmabiz, the pharmaceutical expo proved a profoundly rewarding experience for all participants. Every stall reported positive responses and ample inquiries, with some exhibitors even comparing this 10th edition of Pharmac South to industry-leading events like CPhI and iPHEX. Commenting on this overwhelmingly positive feedback, Rupen Vikamsey, managing director of Orbit Exhibitions Pvt Ltd in Mumbai and organizer of Pharmac South, expressed his delight at the participants' responses. He stated that such enthusiastic feedback is a testament to the event's growth, elevating Pharmac South to the level of international expos. Highlighting the expo's expanding global footprint, he revealed that 32 visitors from 17 countries attended this year's show in Chennai. Looking ahead, he announced an ambitious goal to broaden the expo's strength and exhibitor-participation by including all Asian countries next year. Orbit Exhibitions, in association with the Tamil Nadu board of the Indian Drug Manufacturers Association (IDMA), organized this year's pharmaceutical expo. This event has firmly established itself as a significant platform, uniting pharmaceutical manufacturers, marketing companies, raw material suppliers, and contract manufacturers from all South Indian states to explore new opportunities. According to TN IDMA, the high-powered pharmaceutical and nutraceutical trade expo not only generated business worth crores of rupees but also attracted thousands of pharmaceutical and nutraceutical marketers and contract manufacturers from all South Indian states. Unlike previous years, this 10th edition saw substantial participation from marketing companies, who prominently showcased a diverse range of products at their stalls. The event effectively highlighted the manufacturing capabilities of MSME pharma companies in Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Karnataka, and Kerala, greatly aiding the expansion of business networks for these MSME pharma and allied companies. Beyond the formulation and API sectors, exhibitors also included those from machinery manufacturing, packaging, labelling, laboratory instruments, and excipient manufacturing. Varsha Survey, operations head of Orbit Exhibitions, highlighted Pharmac South as a brand expo specifically designed for South India. She noted that all exhibitors were pleased with the significant responses and business opportunities generated during the two-day event. Attendees were able to discover the latest technologies, solutions, and products essential for their business growth.
Survey emphasized that the Pharmac South series consistently aims to encourage and showcase the best technological solutions and manufacturing capabilities, with a clear vision to support the industry comprehensively. She also revealed plans to attract more customers and visitors from across Asia next year, fostering greater engagement and tie-ups with the South Indian pharma industry. Parallel to the exhibition, there held conferences and technical sessions which effectively addressed the myriad concerns of industry professionals. These sessions also equipped pharmaceutical manufacturers and marketers with the latest knowledge regarding the pharma industry and government policies, including regulatory frameworks. In a new initiative this year, the Tamil Nadu IDMA introduced 'Brand Awards' for pharmaceutical marketing companies. This move aims to encourage marketers in the state by recognizing excellence in pharmaceutical marketing, honouring companies whose brands have demonstrated exceptional market performance, said J Jayaseelan, chairman of the TN IDMA, from US.
