The Indian MedTech industry is currently the fourth-largest medical devices market in Asia, after Japan, China, and South Korea, and ranks among the top 20 medical devices markets globally. This industry is poised for significant growth, driven by the production linked incentive (PLI) scheme for medical devices and the establishment of four ‘Medical Device Parks’ across the country. The DoP is also formulating an India Medical Devices Policy, which is currently at the inter-ministerial consultation stage, it added.
