Imports of Ayush and herbal products have reported a growth of 60% during the month of August, 2025 compared to the same month of previous fiscal year. The imports during the first five months of the fiscal year 2025-26 grew over 54%, on a year-over-year (YoY) basis.
The import of Ayush and herbal products was reported at $18.13 million during the month of August, this year, as compared to $11.33 million in the same month a year ago. This is compared to a decline of 16.10% in imports reported in August, 2024, on a YoY basis, as against $13.5 million in August, 2023.
For the five months from April to August, 2025, the imports of Ayush and herbal products has reported a growth to $89.12 million, as compared to $57.7 million in the same period of previous fiscal year. The period from April to August, 2024 reported a growth of 12.32%, compared to $51.37 million imports registered during the corresponding five months of FY 2023-24.
In Rupee terms, the imports during the month of August, 2025 was Rs. 158.64 crore, with 66.8% growth compared to Rs. 95.08 crore imports reported in August, 2024. Imports in August, 2024 was a decline of almost 15% compared to the Rs. 111.73 crore registered in the same month of 2023.
Imports for the five months was at Rs 767.4 crore during the five months ended August, 2025, reporting a growth of 59.2% from Rs. 482.05 crore registered in the same period of last fiscal year. The corresponding five months of 2024 reported a growth of 13.96% compared to the April to August period of 2023.
In terms of quantity, the imports grew 18% during August, 2025, at 8,602.8 MT, as compared to 7,284.5 MT during the same month of previous year. The quantity during the five months ended August, 2025 was 50,769.7 MT, with 29.3% growth compared to 39,271.8 MT imports during the same period of last fiscal year.
As reported earlier, exports of Ayush and herbal products have reported a growth of 7% during the month of August, compared to the same month of previous fiscal year.
Exports during the month of August, 2025, was at $52.63 million, as compared to $49.15 million in the same month of previous fiscal year. It may be noted that there was a 5.3% decline in August, 2024, compared to $51.91 million in August, 2023.
In Rupee terms, exports of Ayush and herbal products have reported a growth of 11.7% in August, this year, at Rs. 460.64 crore, as compared to Rs. 412.35 crore registered in August, 2024. Exports during August, 2024 was a decline of 4.05% compared to Rs. 429.75 crore in August, 2023, according to data from the Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence and Statistics (DGCI&S).
In terms of quantity, August, 2025 reported a growth of around 22.67% in exports at 10,579 MT as compared to 8,623.9 MT during the same month of 2024. Exports during August, 2024 was almost 7.5% higher than the 8,019.7 MT exports reported in August, 2023.
Cumulative exports during the first five months of the fiscal year was almost stagnant at $287.72 million as compared to $287.04 million registered in the same month a year ago. Cumulative growth from April to August, 2024 was 8.4% as compared to $264.7 million in August, 2023.
