In a significant step towards improving the quality of scientific communication and drug safety monitoring in India, the Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC) has announced an in-person workshop titled “Enhancing Scientific Publications in Pharmacopoeial Science and Pharmacovigilance” scheduled between April 9 and 10, 2026.
The initiative highlights the growing importance of accurate research dissemination and vigilant drug monitoring in the country’s evolving healthcare landscape.
The workshop, organized under the aegis of the ministry of health and family welfare, reflects India’s continued focus on strengthening pharmacovigilance systems, an essential component in ensuring patient safety and effective therapeutic outcomes. As the nation expands its pharmaceutical footprint globally, the ability to produce high-quality scientific literature and maintain robust drug safety surveillance has become increasingly relevant.
Hosted at IPC’s Ghaziabad premises, the program is designed to bring together a diverse group of participants from across the healthcare and research ecosystem. Eligible attendees include students from pharmacy, Pharm D, MBBS, BDS, and nursing backgrounds, as well as practicing healthcare professionals such as doctors, pharmacists, and nurses. The workshop also extends to academicians, library professionals, industry experts, and researchers working specifically in pharmacopoeial science.
The two-day event will focus on enhancing participants’ skills in scientific writing, publication ethics, and data reporting, alongside practical insights into pharmacovigilance practices. Experts are expected to guide attendees on how to effectively communicate research findings, contributing to improved transparency and credibility in scientific publications.
This initiative by IPC comes at a time when India is placing increased emphasis on evidence-based healthcare and global regulatory alignment. By equipping professionals and students with the necessary tools for high-quality scientific publishing and vigilant drug monitoring, the workshop is poised to play a crucial role in advancing both academic excellence and public health safety in the country.
