CPHI South East 2026 expands its reach

An impressive 369 leading local, regional and international exhibitors from 25 countries showcased technologies, and products spanning raw materials, APIs and excipients, and much more making the exhibition floor a comprehensive snapshot of the regional and global pharma supply chain.

Rungphech (Rose) Chitanuwat, regional portfolio director - ASEAN , Informa Markets highlighted that “this year’s edition again successfully delivered on its vision of positioning Thailand as a central hub for South East Asia’s pharmaceutical industry, building on years of growth and collaboration within the ASEAN pharma industry. Throughout the three days, the show floor was consistently busy as buyers, manufacturers, distributors, and technology providers engaged in meaningful discussions, evaluating innovations, and exploring new business opportunities.”

Turning meetings into pharma partnerships
Business development remained a core focus of CPHI South East Asia 2026, with more than 4,000 business matching requests generated through the event’s tailored matchmaking platform and onsite facilitation services. These scheduled meetings connected decision-makers across the supply chain—helping buyers identify qualified partners and suppliers more efficiently.

Exhibitors reported that the curated meetings, combined with walk-in traffic, led to robust pipelines of new leads and concrete sourcing discussions, including price negotiations, regulatory support, and long-term supply agreements. Rungphech noted that “the quality of interactions at CPHI South East Asia 2026 continues to improve as the show attracts increasingly senior participants, including procurement leaders, technical directors, and regulatory specialists, who are prepared to move quickly from initial conversations to practical cooperation.”

Three days of insight and innovation
Alongside the exhibition, CPHI South East Asia 2026 delivered a comprehensive educational programme with more than 90 sessions covering scientific, technical, regulatory, and market trends tailored to the region’s evolving needs.

Sessions explored diverse topics including market updates, and the latest innovations including AI-enabled forecasting, contamination control strategies, eco-friendly pharma packaging - trends and materials, and next-generation mRNA platforms beyond vaccines. Panel discussions brought together regulators, industry associations and stakeholders, and multinational companies to discuss issues.

Innovation played a central role across the show, with dedicated zones and exhibitor showcases highlighting sustainable solutions, novel drug delivery systems, and emerging manufacturing platforms. The Sustainability Square, for example, offered visitors a focused area to discover ideas and technologies designed to reduce environmental impact, improve energy efficiency, and support more responsible resource use in pharmaceutical operations.

ASEAN meets global pharma
CPHI South East Asia 2026 continued to foster regional collaboration by welcoming delegations and buyer groups from key ASEAN markets, as well as Bavaria (Germany), China, Egypt, India, Malaysia, South Korea and Thailand.

Organised tours and country pavilions helped visitors navigate the show and connect with suppliers aligned to their regulatory and commercial contexts, while networking receptions and informal meet-ups extended conversations beyond the exhibition floor.

Feedback from attendees highlighted the value of coming together face-to-face to share experiences, compare solutions, and build trust—particularly as companies navigate shifting demand patterns, therapeutic priorities, and regulatory expectations.

Bangkok at the heart of ASEAN pharma
With its modern infrastructure, central location, and strong connectivity, Bangkok once again proved to be an ideal host city for CPHI South East Asia. Local and regional partners—including government agencies, industry associations, and service providers—played a crucial role in supporting the event, helping international participants navigate business culture, regulatory frameworks, and practical considerations associated with operating in South East Asian markets. Their involvement reinforced the message that CPHI South East Asia is not only a trade fair, but also a proven platform through which national and regional stakeholders collaborate to strengthen the pharmaceutical ecosystem.

Looking ahead—Strengthening CPHI South East Asia’s strategic role
On behalf of Informa Markets, Rungphech expressed sincere appreciation to all exhibitors, attendees, speakers, and partners who contributed to the success of the 2026 edition and confirmed their commitment to further expanding the event’s scope and impact in the coming years. Building on this year’s strong performance, future CPHI South East Asia editions will continue to focus on high-growth segments such as biopharma, complex generics, and advanced formulations, while maintaining a broad representation of solutions across the end-to-end pharmaceutical value chain.

Plans include enhancing digital matchmaking tools, introducing more thematic zones to address specific industry challenges, and deepening engagement with regulators and thought leaders to ensure that CPHI South East Asia remains a key forum for dialogue on quality, safety, and innovation. As South East Asia’s pharmaceutical markets evolve and demand for high quality medicines grows, the event aims to offer companies a reliable platform for discovering new opportunities, building partnerships, and staying ahead of regulatory and technological trends.
