Entod Pharmaceuticals Ltd., a global leader in ophthalmic and specialty healthcare solutions, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Vivekanand Education Society’s College of Pharmacy (VESCOP), Chembur, Mumbai, to establish a long-term academic-industry partnership aimed at advancing pharmaceutical innovation, research, and skill development. This strategic collaboration is designed to strengthen ties between academia and industry, enabling joint efforts in the development of novel pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, and cosmetic technologies, while simultaneously nurturing the next generation of scientific talent. According to the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), there are nearly 4,900 colleges across the country offering pharmaceutical education. Thousands of students enrolled in these institutions are actively engaged in research, thesis writing, and exploring innovative solutions in the field of medicine. However, their efforts often go unrecognized, with valuable ideas and breakthroughs failing to reach the mainstream industry or policy platforms. Recognizing this critical gap, Entod Pharmaceuticals has taken a significant step to support and nurture young talent in the pharmaceutical sector. Through this new collaboration, the company aims to provide a structured platform for student-led innovations to gain visibility and contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of the Indian pharmaceutical industry. Speaking about the partnership, Nikkhil K Masurkar, CEO of Entod Pharmaceuticals said, “As India continues to position itself as a global healthcare leader, it is imperative to empower and encourage innovation from the youth, the driving force of a young and evolving nation.” “We are excited to collaborate with VESCOP, one of India’s leading pharmacy colleges. This partnership not only allows us to co-develop cutting-edge research but also invest in nurturing bright young minds. Together, we aim to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world pharmaceutical challenges,” he added. Dr. Supriya Shidaye, principal of VESCOP, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating “This partnership is a significant step toward ensuring our students and faculty remain on the cutting edge of pharmaceutical innovation. Entod’s support and insight will be invaluable in aligning our academic pursuits with industry expectations.” With this collaboration, Entod Pharmaceuticals and VESCOP reinforce their commitment to accelerating pharmaceutical innovation, nurturing industry-ready professionals, and contributing meaningfully to the healthcare ecosystem of India. This MoU marks the beginning of a progressive journey that combines academic excellence with industry expertise. By fostering a collaborative ecosystem, Entod Pharmaceuticals and VESCOP aim to set a benchmark for impactful partnerships in the pharmaceutical sector—driving innovation, enhancing skill development, and ultimately contributing to a healthier and more self-reliant India.
