Mumbai-based biotech start up PharmNXT Biotech is expecting its integration of Ireland-based modular tubing solutions firm Defined Tubing Routing (DTR), the acquisition it announced in mid 2025, to help expansion of its business not only in India, but also in the international markets.
Through the acquisition, the company has gained access to advanced, GMP-compliant modular tubing technology that manages process volumes from 20 litre to 2000 litre and supports customized spans up to 2.9 meters. This system improves operator safety, reduces human error through color-coded routing, and enables faster, more flexible facility setups, said Ankush Kapoor, founder & CEO , PharmNXT.
"The DTR integration also expands our engineering capacity to deliver higher customization, improved flow consistency, and greater compliance," said Kapoor.
"This acquisition is our gateway to the global market. By integrating DTR’s existing international clientele with our capabilities, PharmNXT now has direct access to new customers and ecosystems. This creates an immediate opportunity to expand into high-growth markets such as South Korea and Europe, where demand for advanced biomanufacturing solutions is rising. Equally important, the products we design and manufacture in India can now be promoted through DTR’s global network," he added. While the company has been organically growing, for true innovation and global knowledge transfer, inorganic growth is also critical.
The company is self-reliant in terms of funding, he said while commenting on the funding for the company's growth, and maintained that it is open for investments which would bring in a strategic advantage to get the company into global landscape.
PharmNXT Biotech is a biotech start-up founded in 2017 with a vision to create end-to-end bioprocess solutions and introduce niche technologies that reduce the cost of manufacturing critical, lifesaving drugs.
