The Community Pharmacy Division of the Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA CPD) has officially announced the Regional Convention 2026, scheduled to take place on Sunday, May 17, 2026.

The event will be held at the Rajiv Kala Mandir in Ponda in Goa, running from 9 am to 5 pm. This year’s gathering centers on the theme ‘Pharmacy Practice - Progress Through Professionalism’, aiming to advance the field through academic engagement and the sharing of best practices.

The convention is designed as a dynamic platform for both hospital and community pharmacists from Goa and neighbouring states to exchange innovations. Attendance is open to any registered pharmacist, including those in industry, regulatory, academia, and students, provided they are registered under their respective state pharmacy councils. Notably, the event offers a professional incentive, as the participation certificate will grant one day of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credit points for pharmacists registered with the Goa or Maharashtra state pharmacy councils.

Organized by a dedicated team led by organizing secretary Ratnadeep Kurtarkar and chairperson Dr. Raj Vaidya, the convention highlights the evolving role of the pharmacist. The IPA CPD, established in 1996, continues its mission to transform community pharmacists into competent healthcare providers. By fostering professionalism, the organizers hope to enhance public health and ensure the responsible use of medicines across the region, sources informed Pharmabiz.

Prospective attendees are encouraged to register early, as seating is limited to 600 participants on a first-come, first-served basis. The registration fee is set at Rs. 600, which covers the delegate kit as well as tea and lunch during the event.

The registration process involves a verification step where, following the submission of the online form, candidates will be contacted to make their payment to IPA(CPD). To confirm a seat, participants must send a screenshot of their payment proof to Mahendra Naik via WhatsApp. It is important to note that all registration fees are non-refundable once deposited.

For outstation participants, Ponda's central location, approximately 29 kilometers from the capital city of Panaji, makes it a strategic hub for the convention. While the venue is accessible by road and public bus, outstation participants are responsible for arranging their own local transportation and accommodations, sources said.
